This book is what the author calls an "appreciative study", aiming to portray the ethos and meaning of the down-town adolescent's world. I cannot for the life of me remember why I picked it up in a local charity shop, but it might be of some use to a fellow Council worker who deals with Schools, Children and Families... even if it's just to look back at thinking and beliefs from 1975 and comparing them to today's views.
