Then life, inspiration, reticence to reveal and thereon judged (by self, if immune to criticism of the general public by this time) - perhaps a small incidence of writer's block? - got in the way, and it's 16 years before Stephen King picks of the tale, but the gap is hardly noticed; once the story resumes, as we knew all along it would - he would never ask a riddle without solving it - we were all right back aboard Blaine the Mono for the end of the ride, and the beginning of a mad rush to climax - but not until life pulls some more surprises for the author and the loyal reader...
