Journal Entry 1 by elstaplador from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 5, 2010
A little book I picked up at the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Shop in Guildford. If you've found it lying around somewhere, feel free to leave a new journal entry saying where and when you found it, what you thought of it, and what you plan to do with it.
My thoughts: Being part of The Prophet, some of The Madman: his Parables and Poems, and bits of The Wanderer. One often comes across The Prophet, of course, in collections of Suitable Readings (for funerals, weddings, etc) and in collections of Inspirational Inspirations (and on the facing pages of our service books, come to think of it); it was good to see some of the less well-known bits. I hadn't ever read any of the other two works; they had a distinctly Wildean flavour to them. I rather think that my favourite story was The Frogs.
