Review from Amazon.de:
Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins, a respected British Barrister, wrote two novels of incredible charm and appeal -- The Prisoner of Zenda, and its sequel, Rupert of Hentzau, in 1894 and 1898.
The novels created a genre. Rudolph Rassendyll, a distaff cousin of the rightful King of Ruritania, goes to that country from his native England to witness King Rudolph's corination.
Then the plot thickens. The two Rudolphs meet, and are incredibly similar to one another -- so similar, in fact, that when King Rudolph drinks drugged wine, sent by his brother Michael as part of a plot to put the younger brother on the throne, Our Hero successfully impersonates the King.
Worth reading, and a quick read!

Journal Entry 3 by buecherfresser from Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Bayern Germany on Thursday, August 21, 2003
I took this one out of the YAEB - Yet Another English Bookbox.
It is an adventure story with quite a lot of action and some - if superficial - romance.
I enjoyed this book so much that I will be on the lookout for the sequel.
As Iras Cignavojo wrote: "Worth reading, and a quick read!" - Far be it from me to contradict his assessment of this narration! ....Can you tell I liked the style of language in the book? ;-)
I wonder what to do with it now, though....since this book was not originally mine, I feel somehow very responsible for it and I would hate to leave it in the wild and never hear from it again. I would much prefer to give it into the safe hands of another bookcrosser via RABCK. So if anyone is interested, please pm me!
Otherwise I will see if a suitable bookbox comes along....or any other good opportunity.
