Book purchased today from the Anglicare op-shop in Croydon Road for a RABCK. Cover art different to that shown.

From back cover:
"David Cleveland is looking forward to Norway. A change of scenery, an old friend and a straight forward looking case. An English jockey has gone missing, and so have the racecourse takings. It all looks so simple until a dead body turns up . . . unannounced.

The Racecourse Committee fields questions like some Norwegian Politburo and the only answers Cleveland gets are violent ones . . . from a gang of professional killers.

So, with maverick Marxist Erik Lund playing minder, he constructs a trap for his would-be assailants . . . with himself as bait."

FYI: Anglicare Victoria.

This book arrived along two other wishlistbooks so THANK YOU Jenny-G. But I think there was a bit of a luck that the package finally arrived as it came after almost half a year, badly broken and torn. :O I was shocked when I see the package but luckily all the books were unharmed and I think nothing was missing as the coin and the fridge magnet were to be found in between the books. I don't know what had happened as the books were perfectly packed (any less packing... and the books would've been lost - so extra THANKS for the good packing!) and my name and address were very clearly typed on the package. So I don't see any reason for why this happened. This is also first time in my life to receive a package after so long traveling time. (Or any other mail either.)

But... the main thing is that everything turned out to be all right after all! :) Now I got a bit further in my project which is to read all the books by Dick Francis.

This book has been first published in 1973, which is 38 years ago. However this was strangely fresh read and surprisingly good book with full of action. Here Francis had also created a nice pack of characters who were interesting and had depth in them. The plot was a bit too easy to guess beforehand but it didn't tick me too much this time. So I must say I really enjoyed this old thriller. :) Only thing is that I would've wished for another ending, this was quite sad one.
