"Nothing links person to person like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
I rescued this book recently from my local library during a sale. The story involves Professor Dr. von Igelfeld and some nasty academic intrigue he runs into while on sabbatical at Cambridge.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book is travelling by mail to New York to for release at a bookcrossing zone. Enjoy!!
If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it. Then, when you are ready, pass it along for someone else to enjoy! Thanks and happy reading!

Thanks to the girls at the OBCZ for sending me this book. Its on my to read list. I'll keep you in mind for other books on my to read list. I know judygreeneyes will understand since I linked to the book through her originally. Thanks again for the book, and look forward to reading it on this upcoming weekend. I'm doing some traveling, and if I finish it over the weekend who knows where it will get released.
Its 2 days laster and I've almost finished the book. Its a great book. I Really enjoy Alexander McCall Smith's particular brand of story telling. It makes for an exciting form of story telling. You have to really enjoy his storytelling which can be very straightforward and dry, but his charicters unlike some other books I have read are well developed, and their individual voices come through. From a German with a strong personal moral sense of right and wrong, to his greedy coworker, and the people that he meets on his exploits. Each charicter has a specific role. I also like the formailty of which he adresses his charicters from Professor Dr. von Igelfld to Mme Ramotswe of the Number One Ladies' Detective Agency. Each has a specific sense of how they would be addressed, and you feel as if you met these people on the street you would know how to address them based on their charicter. A truely enjoyable book.
