This is a book from a bag of yet unregistered books that the BCer going by the name of Tieta took to the latest meetup. I am also a Rendell fan, not sure if I had read this one, so I took it and promised to register it and pass it along!
A fascinating journey inside a deranged mind.It is not a "whoduneit" but a "why did they do it?".Ruth Rendell manages to keep us in suspense until the last page of the book.
We see everything through the eyes of the hero and we keephaving to guess what is real and what is his "reality".
For me this is almost a horror story because it is something that can perfectly happen in real life.

Back with me, there were no other takers for it, I got to get this read next time I am in the mood for classic Rendell.
Finally read, and once again Ruth Rencell shows why do people do what they do. I did not think it was one of her best books, the ending was almost predictable in an impredictable way, and something about the pace of the narrative, but that is just to say that while I don´t think this is one of her masterpieces, it is still pretty good.
Book is available, will try to release it at some meeting.

Caught in an informal gathering. It has been hard to read so far...
It was really a hard read at first, probably because I tend to get affected by the characters in the books I read. Eventually I dropped the book at chapter 4 about 15 months ago.
The other day I picked it up and finished in 4 days. It's a nice book where, from the title on you just know where this is coming to. But Rendell takes us through a travel in the feelings, reactions and belief systems and how everything can just go wrong...
Recommended for those who like crime novels. It's a different way of looking at the whole thing.
