Dune
1 journaler for this copy...
Lately, I've been reading the Dune prequel books by Brian Herbert & Kevin J Anderson. I find them to be inferior to Frank Herbert's Dune books. F Herbert's prose is grand and plot twists do not seem contrived. Descriptions are spare but are sufficient for the imagination. BH & KA's descriptions are nearly rococo in their overuse of adverbs and other descriptive terms.
Dune is the mother of them all and by far is the best of the lot. I have read it many times. The things I enjoyed about Dune on my first reading still hole true.
