It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Three Ways to Capsize a Boat: An Optimist Afloat

bookdepository.co.uk:
If you're wondering what Chris Stewart did before he and Ana moved to El Valero, their Spanish farm, here's one of the answers. He took to the sea, landing a job as skipper for the summer, sailing a Cornish Crabber around the Greek islands. It was his dream job - and there was just one tiny problem. He hadn't ever sailed before and had not the foggiest how to start. In a series of madcap and hilarious adventures we follow Chris from a shaky start in Chichester harbour to his epic Odyssey to Spetses (a bucket would have been handy), and then on to the journey of a lifetime - battening down the hatches on a trip across the North Atlantic. It's a journey crackling with Chris' zest for life, irresistible humour, and unerring lack of foresight. Dry land never looked more welcoming.

Fast, easy, very entertaining read!
Perfect for a cold winter weekend when you just want to dream away to a sunnier and warmer place!

This RABCK just arrived - thank you so much, Sobergirl! It looks great and I hope I'll have a chance to read it soon.
"Soon" apparently has a flexible meaning in my world, but I did read this book. I read it out loud to my dad shortly before Christmas, and it was a perfect choice for that - it was funny and easy to keep track of, and we both enjoyed it a lot, plus it did help us beat the cold snap. Thank you again, Sobergirl!

Released 13 yrs ago (4/9/2011 UTC) at Joshua Tree Café, Edmonton Trail in Calgary, Alberta Canada
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Releasing to the April humour meeting to be swapped or put on the shelves.
I enjoyed this little memoir of learning to sail. The first part is pretty funny as Chris is somehow reccomended for a job as a skipper for a boat despite never having sailed in his life! There are some hijinks as he tries to learn before the summer starts and as he learns on the job. I especially was interested in the second half where he is part of a crew re-sailing Leif Ericson's journey to Newfoundland or Vinland. I enjoy reading about my family history (though it's a lineage I share with about 10% of Norweigans!) so this was certainly the right book to be sent to me as the decoy of the mini North American You've got mail sweepstakes!
To the finder:
Calgary has an active group of BookCrossers that meet to swap books and discuss book crossing every second Saturday of the month at 11am at the Joshua Tree Cafe on Edmonton Trail. We always love to meet new crossers, so please join us any time you like!

I picked this up at April's Calgary meetup. This is being added to the TBR mountain.
As May's Calgary meet up theme is "elements", I thought it was time to read this book. Water plays a big part of the story and as a result certainly fits the theme. I haven't been sailing before so found this book particularily enjoyable, it made me want to try it out. Perhaps in Greece though, don't really have the desire to freeze while crossing the ocean. Nope, I think island hopping is more my style!
Taking this to May's meeting...

Picked up at May's BookCrossing meeting, there were no takers for it so I am holding onto it until the next meeting where perhaps people will be interested.
Taking this to June's meeting where it will hopefully find a new reader.

Picked this up at our June meeting at Cravings. Went with a big stack and came home with a big stack. Oh-oh.
I was in the mood for something light. It distressed me for a while, but then I really started to enjoy the story. He has a good sense of humour and looks at himself honestly.
I am taking this to the meeting at Cravings to see if I can find a new reader for it.
I am taking this to the August meeting at Cravings to see if I can find someone to pass it on to.
