It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

Much as I expected although, if anything, it's even more weird! How on earth can anyone get that much pleasure from shopping? He wouldn't do what he does if he wasn't totally self-absorbed, so there's nothing new there, but his name-dropping can be a bit of a pain and the constant stream of practical jokes and obsessive references to mooning, body parts and bodily functions strike me as both childish and tedious. It was a suitable accompaniment to the Torchwood specials on TV this week but it's at least 100 pages too long! To enjoy it, I think you'd have to be a big fan, not just vaguely interested because of the Torchwood connection....

This was waiting for me on return from my hols -thanks for this Nu-knees...it sounds intriuguing from your comments :o)

I still have the last 3 episodes of Torchwood to watch so maybe this will accompany them...or maybe it will sit on Mt TBR a while I haven't decided yet!

I'm not a fan generally of autobiographies/biographies but this was very easy to read & reasonably entertaining - though as Nu-knees has said Barrowman is very self-absorbed. I guess to some extent in his profession that is to be expected but he is certainly his own self-appreciation society! I don't think I would be able to stand too much time in Barrowman's company either...now I can take being the victim of a practical joke but I think it must be very wearing (& wearying) to be with him for any length of time!

It did seem very superficial account, all very much about the bright lights & Barrowman "the celebrity" etc & nothing that really gave any insight to him as a person.

Did enjoy his little footnotes though - even if some were just put in to raise a cheap smile :o)

I'll probably donate it to a charity shop unless I can find it on someones wishlist....either way then it will be going to someone who wants to read it!
