I am sure that I started to read this at one time. I just don't remember much about it.

This was great! I'm kind of intimidated by those brick sized fantasy books (especially if there's a map on the inside cover!) but this just flew by.
There was always something new and surprising around the corner and it's set in a richly described created world. I was also kind of worried about the characters being thin and all of the words being spent on introducing the crazy fantasy-iness of the world but that wasn't the case - Isaac and Lin's relationship seemed especially real and we were spared encyclopedic pages about rail systems or particular non-human species [well, maybe one or two exceptions to that, but they were necessary].

Couldn't put it down! A fantastic story with great characters set in a fully realised and detailed world that I would recommend to everyone.
