This Book is Currently in the Wild!
1 journaler for this copy...
I picked this book up from the recycling shelf of Kamppi shopping center, mainly for nostalgic reasons. My father gave it to me to read when I was ten or eleven, one of the first "grown-up" novels I ever read. From that time, I remembered the metal eggs Keith made for the girl, and little else.
It was nice to reread this. What stayed with me this time was the quiet celebration of integrity and honesty, as well as appreciation of things, whatever they are, done with great skill and understanding. I can see their appeal to my father. To some extent, I still share this kind of craftsman's or engineer's values.
To be released.
