Everything Is Illuminated: A Novel

Found this book lost at the library. Been looking forward to reading it since so many people have given it such good reviews.
I finished this book and wanted to cry but was too overwhelmed to do so. The depth at which the story enters the characters' lives, while still leaving out such intriguing details is enthralling. I'll say that this book is not for everyone. If you're looking for a simple, easy-to-follow, straight-forward narrative, this is not a book for you. But if you're interested in the search for an understanding of the past, how that understanding affects the people of the present, you might just appreciate and grow to love this book. I'm not quite ready to let it leave my shelf permanently yet, but I will definitely loan it out, probably first to my friend Larry, whom we love for, among other things, his ability to perform Russian and Eastern European accents in such a comical and endearing way.
Guilelessly,
Kelli

I'm loaning this book to my friend Gianfranco. He started reading it before he left and was enjoying it immensely. I hope he makes a journal entry. :)
