I've always enjoyed reading Taylor Caldwell's books because she tells great stories and writes in a way I'd sure like to be capable of. This one seems a bit different compared to her other books. Sure, it has all the elements of a good story: romance, antagonists, intensity. But here the story deals with a successful guy who tries suicide. The novel works its way to finally telling us why. Good? Yeah. Would I read it again? Nah.
