"Imagine 'Sex and the City' if the city in question were Riyadh" (Time review)
I picked this up at my local Borders this evening along with two other books. I hope it will be as entertaining as the synopsis promised!
6/25/08: I just finished this book and enjoyed it a lot. Not only was it entertaining, but it gave me an intriguing insight into Saudi culture. I couldn't help but sympathize with the young women. The oppressive environment in which they were raised must have been frustrating. It's no wonder they struggle against and find ways to "cheat" the rules. I'm thankful I wasn't raised in a culture that values women less regardless of their accomplishments and intelligence!
6/26/08: I happened to briefly discuss this book with a young lady last night, just as I was nearly finished reading it. Rather than just leave it for someone to find, I decided to drop it to her since she showed an interest in it. If you're the young lady with whom I spoke, I think I may have handed the book to your sister, not you! If that's the case, I'm sorry - I was in a bit of a rush! Enjoy!!
