It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

My son joined the Air Force and leaves in July for boot camp. This has been his lifelong dream and now it's finally coming true!

I bought this book to read a little about military family life, and then plan to release this when we go to San Antonio for his graduation in August/September.

I liked this book much more than I expected to. I think that's largely because it delivered what I so badly wanted to know - what it's like to grow up being a military brat. I'm sure everyone's story is different, but this was a good one, and made me realize that my son and his future wife and kids will lead a life that I can only imagine. They'll know the acronyms, and the routines that only a military family can know. And I don't know why, but until now I never realized that I won't really be a part of that. If my son really does make a career out of the military, and gets married and has kids, they will know a life that I won't be privy to. I know, I know.. I'm being a little melodramatic.

Aside from my personal perspective, I liked this book because of the storyline. Once we finally get involved in what happened all those years ago at Yokota AFB, the story really takes off. Having Bernie get there via Bobby and go-go dancing was a little strange, but it was certainly a unique angle.

I liked, too, that the author really made us see how oblivious children are to what is going on in their parents' lives. Ain't that the truth!!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book on the free newspaper rack at the BX. I tried to get my son to do it for me since it was my birthday, but he wouldn't. Didn't stop me, though.
