An amusing read about an englishman who goes to France for a year to work. The working year starting in September and ending in May! Sometimes I think the author was trying too hard at times to be amusing and ironic and the character is allegedly (but loosely) based on the author's experiences of things that had happened to him in the ten years he has lived in France. I do like the French idea of the 35 hour week though where they all leave work early on a Friday.
I'm not sure I could be bothered to read his other books in the series though.
