I have read several other of Anita Shreve's books, and this one wasn't one of my favorites. While the husband character had some depth, it didn't really seem to go anywhere to me at the climax of the story. It was just okay.
I'd be interested to hear what someone else's opinion is; especially if they've read anything else that she has written.
