I love Lynne Truss!! OK, I've only read one book by her ('Eats, Shoots & Leaves') but that book was so amazing that I'm a fan for life. :-) Am looking forward to reading her fiction as well.
The blurb:
''A classic comic novel, unashamed, exuberant, fiendishly clever, and a joy to read' Daily Telegraph
If there were more than one of you, could you run your life more easily? Belinda Johansson is a freelance critic and novelist trying to have it all and not really coping.
Her house and domestic affairs are in chaos; if only she had a double, she would get so much more done. Deep in research for her magnus opus - a definitive account of the doppelgänger in classic gothic fiction - she fails to notice the echoes of these ghoulish tales disturbingly close at hand. For not only is the cleaning lady taking over her life, but the identity of her husband, Stefan, is in question. Is he a harmless geneticist from Sweden, or actually a cunning clone? Why is the cleaning lady's previous employer having a breakdown, and what on earth has a rat circus got to do with any of this?
Going Loco is a kaleidoscope in which identities shift with alarming ease, a cautionary tale for dizzying times and, quite simply, the funniest novel you could only ever hope to read about outlandish fish cookery, men in skirts and ... Abba.
'Lynne Truss lets her imagination explode in what can only be described as a riddle devised while coming down off hallucinogens ... The book sings with glittering prose' Time Out
'you could only ever hope to read' ... ? A word too many in there somewhere ... ?
This is a paperback copy from Profile Books, published in 2004. The book was originally published in 1999.
I bought this book at ARK Pocket on Railway Square in Oslo on May 2nd, 2007. It was on sale, along with two other Truss books, 'With One Lousy Free Packet of Seed' and 'Tennyson's Gift'.

Finally got around to reading this book this summer. Better late than never. It was fun, an entertaining read. Not great literature maybe but would recommend :-)
