I found this oldish paperback in a used book sale in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. I remembered that I had really liked Tobacco Road by this author, so figured I'd give the book a try. Of course I now don't remember a thing about Tobacco Road, only that I had liked it. Now on reading the cover blurb on this book it is being touted as "a scorching novel about a sexually obsessed woman". Hmmm, did Tobacco Road have sexual themes? I can't remember, but if it did, I wonder if that's why I had liked it. I would have been about 15 or 16 years old at the time.

Well, we shall see if I get to this one.
