I picked this up a couple of months ago and read it immediately.
I thought it was beautifully written, very accessible and poignant. I heard an interview with David Mitchell and this was based on some of his own experiences as a boy.

Well I took longer to get round to this, but I'm glad I finally did. It was fun reminiscing, especially as my other half was about that age in that year and grew up in that part of the UK.

Sorry for taking so long to 'catch' this book! It's going on my rather short TBR pile so will hopefully get through it quick. I loved his other 2 books that I've read, so looking forward to this one.
