This is a memoir of the last days Ruth Cracknell (a successful Australian Actor) spends with her husband. They travel on a long awaited trip to Venice, and he becomes ill while they are away. He is treated in an Italian hospital, undergoes a medical evacuation and eventually dies. (This is not really a spoiler as the funeral is the first chapter in the book). This memoir is a description of both the experience, and their relationship.
I enjoyed the book, but I found ther writing style a bit jerky. It is, however, quite a quick read.
