An ok whodunnit - I even guessed whodunnit, something I'm not particularly good at. I can't think of a single character that I liked, even the dead woman. It was also riddled with murder mystery novel cliches, the hard bitten cop with a stupid name who spends almost the entire novel investigating the obvious killer (any reader with half a brain knows it's not the obvious killer), the fact that nearly everyone happened to have a motive on the day she died, everyone trying to implicate each other. Rinse. Repeat. It also had a very sudden and unbelieveable ending.

Yes it was a bit obvious. I got a bit confused in the middle about exactly who everbody was, which suggests the characterisation was a bit weak. just about worth reading on a bad night for TV, or a long train journey. I actually read it while queuing up for my festival tickets, so it served a purpose.

Journal Entry 6 by wingkinediwing from Rushyford, County Durham United Kingdom on Monday, June 4, 2007
Took it on holiday with me to Thailand to read on the beach and finished it on the way back to Heathrow so have passed it on to a German bookcrosser friend instead.
Easy read indeed, nothing too spectacular but just right for the holidays
