The first of the Alan Banks series:
"Someone is watching. . . crouched in rooftops, peering into lit bedroom windows, intruding upon the most intimate moments of unsuspecting women. The thrill is in the sudden glimpse of naked flesh--and in the look of shock and horror on his victims' faces when they see him in the shadows. Now an old woman is dead, brutally slain in her home, and a dedicated policeman who abandoned the big city worries that a peeper may have increased the awful intensity of his crimes. But whether the dark incidents are related or separate nightmares haunting his small community, Chief Inspector Alan Banks must end this wave of terror."
