Satirical novel. Enjoyed it, but it wasn't spectacular. Had a little TOO MUCH satire in it, in fact.
Couldn't decide how I felt about the book so I am releasing it to another feminist for a second opinion.
I haven't finished it yet, but so far it's pretty funny.
Like my friend who passed this book on to me, I had mixed feelings about it. Mainly, if the main character had really been a feminist, she wouldn't have put up with everything that she does in the book. Some parts were so right-on in their insight of feminist politics and culture, but other parts were just horrible. I think this book will be different things for different people, mainly based on where you are coming from on the feminist spectrum.
