This is going out to kizmiaz, who won it from my 3rd BC anniversary RABCK draw. Enjoy! :)
Mailed today. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy the book!
Got it today, thanks Guinneth. I'm not really sure when I'll read it, I'm a bit swamped right now, but I'm looking forward to it.
This book is another take on that character that we all love so much, Dracula.
This time the ever haunting Vlad Dracula is up to his usual business but what drives him, and his large family, isn’t the lust for blood but a rare clinical condition that makes it impossible for them to survive without consuming human blood.
This is a fast paced thriller with some high tension points, verging on pure horror, and an engaging plot, even if sometimes it gets a little too technical, especially when it comes to the way the retrovirus works its magic.
The novel has some good historical information on the real Vlad that gives it that strong foothold for the rest of the plot to develop.
The characters main trait is their plausibility, it could happen, maybe not Kate’s never-ending stamina in the last 10 pages, but all the rest is very believable. And that’s what it makes it work.
