Purchased for £1 in WHSmith which sounds like a bargain until you realise they were selling the same titles for 49p in the post Christmas sales.

I read this book after having seen the movie which was made of it and my opinion of the movie wasn't great even though I adore John Cuzac who played the lead character. I admit to enjoying the book much much more as the humour was a whole lot funnier with the original British slant and I decided what was missing from the movie was this Britishness.

The story follows 30 something record store owner, former DJ and former 'cool' hipster 20something male in his quest to unwittingly destory every adult relationship he engages in. Will he find love and happiness? He might, you read it for yourself and see.

I was booked as a standby participant in the National Pensions Debate. I was hoping to collect the standby cash and head off to Borough Market for the rest of the morning but as it turned out I was signed up for the whole day.

I released a couple books in the ladies loos first thing this morning as I had no idea whether or not I'd be around to do so later in the day.
