This was a lovely, enjoyable read. Mayle has a lighthearted, humourous voice for describing the relaxed, sometimes rediculous, lives of his friends and neighbours in rural Provence. Having been to Provence, this book showed me all the things I missed as a tourist and would love to take the time to explore on a future occasion.
