I know many people have enjoyed this book. I just didn't like the voice of the writer.

Alluring, poetic prose...Roy kept my interest up, almost till the end of the book,when I thought she lost me a bit. Perhaps it's because this family story is really told through two children. There are many things they don't know or understand (likely even as adults) and Roy has to explain her story somewhat artificially just at the end?
Definitely will recommend this to others though.
