I loved this book. And then loved it all over again when I travelled in the Australian Outback and encountered the people whom Chatwin captures so well - and discovered the magnetic pull of the nomadic life for myself.
The book is about the Aboriginal 'dreaming', about the clash and blend of cultures in Australia, about the deep roots of the nomadic instinct, and about Chatwin the collector of people and tales.
I think the released copy still has some red desert dust clinging to the pages...
