This one wasn't amazing, but I didn't expect it to be. A couple of years ago a friend & I went on a tour to China and we've been picking up books ever since either set in china or written by chinese authors about their country. This was a silly purchase from a thrift store in that regard. I think my friend enjoyed it more than I did. It does make for a nice mindless read on the beach etc if you're in the mood for such. Not quite a "bodice ripper" but certainly along those lines.
