Book Synopsis:

Special bulletin to fans of Betsy Taylor, shoe fanatic and inadvertent queen of the undead: The third outing in the irresistible comic vampire series (Undead and Unwed and Undead and Unemployed) is here. Betsy is still struggling with her new life, trying to keep up with old friends while running a vampire nightclub. This time, she discovers she has quite the family tree, including a long-lost half sister who is the daughter of the Devil and is destined to take over the world. In her Operation Keep an Eye on the Spawn of Satan, Betsy tracks down her little sister, Laura, a pretty, normal-seeming college girl in the Twin Cities. Naturally, adventures ensue: Betsy is set upon by a pack of moody vampires, turns evil for a few hours, and resolves her hate-love relationship with the charismatic Eric Sinclair, king of the vampires. And of course, there is some hot vampire sex and a lot of talk about shoes. What's not to like!

Another great read! My husband even kicked me out of bed because I was laughing too much while he was trying to sleep. I love these books. I got it from the grape vine that there will be at least a few more books in this series. They just can't release them fast enough!

This book was just as fun as the first two. The poor main character, Betsy, is thrown into so many impossible situations and yet somehow manages to get out of them without a clue. It's like Clueless meets Dracula. So now we have the wicked step-mother who was posessed by the devil (without anyone the wiser) while pregnant who gives up her child when she comes to when the child is already here. She freaks out and gives the child up for adoption (though she probably would have done so if she'd had it without intervention) eventually to a minister and his wife. This Spawn of Satan (hellspawn being the wrong word because she wasn't conceived in hell, nor is hell her parent) has grown up as a goody-two-shoes with full knowledge of her lineage. Talk about bizare. Now we're left trying to figure out how she's going to fit into the odd puzzle we've got and whether or not she can truly escape her fate (since no one else has to this point).

At least now Betsy has acknowledged her feelings for Sinclair. This strain on her friendship (of sorts) with him seems to be disapating somewhat. She's also managed to alienate and make up with everyone else in her circle of friends thanks to a rather nasty bit of reading. (Side note 1: One has to wonder how she was given the ability to wake during the daylight hours by reading this horrible book. One also wonders if this may be how Sinclair has gained the ability to be awake also.) (Side note 2: What did Satan mean by trying to distroy the book? Does this mean it will come back? If so, who will have it?)

I can hardly wait to find out what happens with Laura and George. I guess I'll just have to learn patience.
