Caught at the Ipswich Meet today, grabbed for my Mum! Thanks BookGroupMan :-) Mum was chuffed as she's read Future Homemakers in the time after breaking her ankle last August.
Mum has read this - I'll just nip downstairs and get an opinion and marks out of ten for it. Hold on!
*sound of feet on stairs going down, and a couple of minutes later, coming back up again*
Here is the brief exchange we had on The Unfortunates, me on the stairs hanging over the banister, Mum standing in the hall, looking up at me over her glasses.
ME: "So what about this book then?"
MUM: *just heading for the kitchen* "What book?"
ME: "This one" *waves The Unfortunates in the air*
MUM: "Oh! That one. *pause* It was good, I enjoyed it."
ME: "How many stars out of ten?"
MUM: "I don't know. Seven, maybe eight."
ME: "Eight then?"
MUM: "OK."
So there you have it! The closest BookCrossing will ever get to my Mum doing actual journal entries herself!
