This book is set in Vienna, from the time of the German Anschluss, 1938, until the Russian invasion in 1945.
This book runs almost 600 pages, and realistically I must admit that I will most likely never get to it. The cover claims, however, that this is "a novel on a grand scale and it will rank with the very best literature of our age".
