Such a Long Journey

Rohinton Mistry is a very well-known and respected Canadian writer and I am embarrassed to say that I have not yet read any of his work. I have heard him interviewed, though, and he is a very modest, soft-spoken and articulate man.
I am sending this book off to a fellow bookcrosser as part of a trade. Enjoy! I look forward to your impressions.

Thanks so much for finding and sharing this book! I am a big Rohinton Mistry fan, loving both Family Matters and A Fine Balance. Excellent writer. I am eager to read this one. Thanks for all the goodies you included, too!
A Fine Balance is one of my top ten reads. I expected nothing less from Such a Long Journey. How could it possibly measure up?
Such a Long Journey is an earlier Mistry, a Mistry who was still learning flow and characters and plot, and, held up against A Fine Balance, this book looks immature, flawed. Little passages here and there bring hope for Mistry's future, but, all in all, I came away very disappointed.
