Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong

A good book for anyone who's been curious about our country's past but has found American History classes too boring. The title of this book is a little misleading. Although it does point out some false facts that have worked their way into our history books, it mostly just fills in the gaps and clarify's the vague points.
It does get a little preachy at times which is why I only gave it a 7. The author has a bit of an axe to grind and the last 2 chapters are his idea of how American History should be taught, the process of how textbooks get adopted, and why certain facts are left out.
It's main goal is to enlighten and hopefully make people do a little discovering of their own of our country's past (both it's postive and negative aspects).
