The Art of Travel
5 journalers for this copy...
Latest from the always interesting Alain de Botton.
Mailed this book on 9/24/02 to annulla, another BookCrossing member.
Received via mail from CBCD. It is on top of my "to read" pile.
It will travel on to Moreteavic in Ohio, USA.

I am reading this book very, very slowly. Nearly every page sends me into a reverie, recalling voyages past and dreaming of those to come. I find myself reading a passage, re-reading it and savoring every bit.
Journal Entry 5 by annulla at Post Office, see notes in New York City, New York USA on Wednesday, October 30, 2002
Released on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Roosevelt Station Post Office in New York, New York USA. Releasing to another Bookcrosser via mail.
I know that I made too many journal entries on this book but I couldn't figure out how to delete an entry without deleting the book itself. Oh, well, I really loved this book. I hope the next reader enjoys it, too.

I am, like, the worst bookcrosser EVER. I get this book months ago and only start to read it when ANOTHER bookcrosser asks to have it. Then I dither around for a few more weeks before sending it out. Sheesh.
Anyway, this book was great. Not as good as "How Proust Can Change Your Life," but very, very good. I especially enjoyed the last three chapters, and ESPECIALLY "On Possessing Beauty," but they are all good.
This is one of those books that plays with your preconceptions and perceptions and gently challenges you to change the way you think about things. I think I did.
linguistkris, this is headed your way! I think it is worth the wait! :)

Brilliant! I read this very slowly to make it last, and as always thorougly enjoyed de Botton's flowery yet lucid style. I hope I'll put my new insights to a good use -- I'm off for a short break tonight and will do my best to savour it like a philosopher! ;)
(I didn't rank this a ten because I figured it might have been a tad longer and/or deeper.)
