This book did not grab me from the beginning, and after reading about 50 pages, I found I was only mildly interested in the main characters.
The plot was unrealistic: Kate decided to spend two weeks at a remote cabin resort in order to meet that special guy in her life, one that would put a ring on her third finger, left hand. She had no shortage of dates with a multitude of handsome, successful, single men in the area. (Doesn't happen in real life, does it???) No second dates ever occured because the first dates were always "maimed" (she scared Peter into heart palpitations, hit Brad over the head with a bottle, etc.)
Those readers enjoying romance fiction will find this a fun read.

Got this last night at our monthly "Gathering" and I'm already done!
this book is yet another reason I love Crusie. I started it on the bus home Thursday night and was chuckling out loud the whole trip, then this morning I burst into laughter that had everyone looking at me. Thanks Warren75, this was great.
Now the synopsis.
Kate is getting older and richer but she's still lonely. She and her best friend come up with the "plan"......
Katie is to go on a vacation with the plan to meet a successful, tall, charming man who wants to start and grow a successful business with her.
Enter Jake. Retired at 35 with no plans past mowing the greens of his brothers golf resort and fishing under that big willow tree. He's been down the marriage road with corporate ladder climbing blondes. He has no plans on making that mistake again.
Now that you've met the characters I'm sure you can guess what happens.
