I'm Not Scared

This short novel is an absorbing page-turner told by a man recalling the unique events that unfolded in the summer 1978. His Italian village was experiencing a heat wave. He was 9 years old, going on 20. I actually hated some of the characters because of their actions. I liked the references to Italian foods, customs, and places, even though I didn’t understand them all. I felt transported to a different place and time. I was glad I read this book, but overall, it made me feel sad about humanity, or lack thereof. I don’t want to give away any of the storyline. Read it for yourself and you will know why...
