This is a great thriller. I read it on the plane and couldn't put it down.
"When the NSA's invincible code-breaking machine encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, the agency calls its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher, a brilliant and beautiful mathematician. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage...not by guns or bombs, but by a code so ingeniously complex that if released it would cripple US intelligence. Caught in an accelerating tempest of secrecy and lies, Susan Fletcher battles to save the agency she believes in. Betrayed on all sides, she finds herself fighting not only for her country but also for her life, and in the end, for the life of the man she loves."

Mom got it from the book relays, I'll give it back to her after I read it. Thanks!
It was exciting. I read it about 3 times faster than I usually books this size. About a week before I started reading it, I was looking up encryption software in Java and what I learned from looking that up supported what Dan Brown was saying in this book which only made it more interesting for me.
Just got this book back from my son who urged me to move it to the top of my reading list because he's "dying to talk to me about it." It's such a rare event that he wants to talk to me about anything since he became a teenager so I'll certainly be reading it next.
I loved this book! It was a page-turner from the very beginning and I had such a hard time putting it down that I even tried to keep reading it in the car on a road trip after it started getting dark outside just because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Eventually I had to convince my husband to pull over for a "driving break" so that I could read under a light for just another chapter. Loved the little code-breaking thing at the end, too!
