It took me one whole day to get through this book. Essentially, the story is told by a young teenager named Calvin. He describes life in Switzerland with his Presbyterian missionary family, having to live with his foul-mouthed, rude grandmother and his friendships and loves. The beginning is hilarious, and there are some funny moments as the book goes on, but in the end, I wasn't all that impressed. Especially because the title of the book is "Saving Grandma" and I'm not sure if she was actually saved or not. Also, there's something a bit disturbing about referring to those with Cerebral Palsy as "spastics".

This book is with Goonworks now. Let me explain. There was some odd glitch and when Goonworks made a journal entry to say she caught the book, there was a duplicate "blank" copy that appeared on my bookshelf instead of her entry. Now, I'm a bit of a neat-freak with my bookshelves, so I deleted the blank entry, only to have Goonwork's entry accidentally deleted in the process! [Oh, the pains of technology sometimes].
