When my English teacher recommended this book to my class, I was really intrigued by the title because I am Cuban. So I thought this could be a great book to read because I will probably relate to it since my family is from the island of Cuba. I started reading and every time the author would describe the characters, its reminded so much of my own family. It's amazing how she was able to perfectly detail each mannerism and profile to fit a typical Cuban, but not only were the describing the typical Cuban, the author added he own touch to the character personality to make the unique. I highly recommend this book to any one who enjoys the Cuban culture. And if you are a Cuban, you should definitely read this book!
