A cracking tale of one man's struggle against the world, or at least New Orleans. Ignatius J. Reilly is one of the finest comic characters ever created. Afflicted by a succession of unfeeling bosses, an alcoholic mother and a troublesome valve, this hero for our age struggles valiantly against the outrageous misfortunes that life throws his way. At least that's what he'd have you believe. One of the funniest books I've read.

Mailed to a fellow bookcrosser (Sidney1220) on 20th July 2004. I'm sad to see it go, because it's a great book, but it's better off being read than just sitting on my bookshelf gathering dust!
