Introduction

Anyone read the introduction? What did you think?

Prologue
Who do you think was in the buggy?

Chapter 1
Anyone know what pieplant is?

I am thinking that the discussion of Manly farming for three years and if it didn’t work was left out of the previous book.

In the previous book too, I was sure that Laura had finished teaching. Maybe she changed that part for that particular book?

Wasn’t that nice that Manly got Laura a horse and she learned to ride?

Can you believe that Laura slapped an Indian and lived to tell about it? The leader must have respected her for sticking up for herself.

Laura thought they would have plenty and then not anything, that had to have been a terrible blow.

I am unclear as to where they are moving, would that be the tree farm?

Chapter 2
Wasn’t it funny how Laura and Shep went sledding? Laura is still a kid at times and I think that is good.

Did Laura have a C-section?

That was terrible about the Boats not being able to have a child. I can’t believe Mr. Boast offered them someth8ing so they would leave the baby.

Can you believe the two strange men froze to death in the storm? You would have thought they would have been smarter than that.

That was too bad about Shep taking off, but the St. Bernard sounded nice.

Did you notice how Laura is keeping track of the years?

Chapter 3
Can you imagine being so sick and not really having the care we have today?

It seems that Manly and Laura will never get out of the hole? Can you imagine what it took to have the drive to go on?

Chapter 4
Do you think it was possible that Laura got the winter blues?

Would you have been so brave as Laura and just went to look for wolves with a pitchfork?

Wasn’t that nice of Mr. Shelton to bring the books for Laura to read?

Didn’t you feel sorry for Laura because of her losing her son? She sure didn’t write too much about it, did she?

I loved seeing the picture of the platter, didn’t you?

It was very sad about them losing their house in the fire. I think at that point I would have just given up!

I personally think this was the best one so far. 5/5 for me.
