The latest novel featuring Inspector Logan McRae. I haven't read the previous ones in the series, so will put in a library request for the earlier ones to see how he started out. In this he is recently returned from sick leave because of a stabbing and is now in the Professional Standards unit. He is still based in Aberdeen, so there is quite a lot of local vernacular in the text.
