A collection of essays reflecting on the joys and sorrows of a young Chinese Malaysian woman living in Kyoto, Japan.
I picked this up because I was fortunate enough to visit Kyoto earlier this year and was fascinated by the city, as well as Japanese culture.
A gentle and poetic book with some lovely writing about Kyoto and it’s shops, bars, gardens and people.
It also introduced me to an anime film which looks lovely - The Garden of Words - which I will watch soon.
