This is the first in the Erica Falck/Patrik Hedstrom series but in typical fashion I read book 3 "The Stonecutter" first so it was good to read this & learn how the two met & also get the background on Erica's sister Anna.

The story itself is intriguing enough, although it was very obvious - to me at least - what Alex's "secret" was.... & it's not something you want to believe!
All-in-all a good murder mystery focusing on families & how decisions made apparently "for the good of the family" can have shocking & unforseen consequences.
