tbr then it's gone

A kind of mediocre spy story where it's the Israelis against the Palestinians and lots of killing for revenge. The main character is art restorer Gabriel Allon, whose family met a tragic end in Vienna years before as a result of his being involved in a plot to eliminate a terrorist threat to Israel. He swore he'd never go back into service for "THE OFFICE" as the Israeli intelligence agency is known here, but circumstances present him with a case he cannot turn down.

I had heard good things about this book, and it wasn't bad -- it was a little suspenseful and I did want to keep up on what was happening throughout. But the problem was, there seemed to be very little action until the end.

To be fair, this is the first in his Gabriel Allon series, so maybe it's like every other series opener (except angels & demons) where you just don't really get a handle on the character & the action until further episodes. So I'll keep reading the series until I finish them to see what Gabriel Allon does next.
