Summer Sisters
6 journalers for this copy...
In the summer of 1977, Victoria Leonard's world changed forever--when Caitlin Somers chose her as a friend. Dazzling, reckless Caitlin welcomed Vix into the heart of her sprawling, eccentric family, opening doors to a world of unimaginable privilege, sweeping her away to vacations on Martha's Vineyard, a magical, wind-blown island where two friends became summer sisters. . . .
Now, years later, Vix is working in New York City. Caitlin is getting married on the Vineyard. And the early magic of their long, complicated friendship has faded. But Caitlin has begged Vix to come to her wedding, to be her maid of honor. And Vix knows that she will go--for the friend whose casual betrayals she remembers all too well. Because Vix wants to understand what happened during that last shattering summer. And, after all these years, she needs to know why her best friend--her summer sister--still has the power to break her heart. . . .

On the way to Morgail....enjoy!
Arrived yesterday. Thanks Flakes! And I love the postcard too:)
I loved this book. Judy Blume is every bit at good writing for adults as she is writing for children. This was a very real-feeling story about the friendship between two teenagers and how it grows and changes over several years.

Received in todays post. I'm really looking forward to reading this. When I was about 10 - 11, I was mad on Judy Blume books and would read anything that I could get my hands on. Then when she didn't seem to have written anything else I moved on to other things... It has never occurred to me to go back and see if she'd written anything new or even for adults.
I'll bump this up Mount TBR!
Thanks for this Morgail

Once I picked this up I couldn't put it down! It reminded me of why I used to love Judy Blume books. I'm definitely going to have to read more now! This book took me right back and of course all that talk about summer makes we want summer to hurry up and start here.

The last Judy Blume book I read was Super Fudge and I think that was about 30 years ago! I'm sure this one is nothing like Super Fudge, ha ha. Looking forward to reading it, looks like it has been well traveled too.
I really liked seeing how Caitlin and Vix grew over the years and kept their friendship alive even though they grew into totally different women. It's much easier to break up with a boyfriend than with a life long friend.

Picked this book up at the Brisbane Christmas Meet-up in Avid Reader Café. Read lots of Judy Blume when I was a teenager in Ireland so looking forward to checking this one out over the holidays!
This was an enjoyable holiday read - brought me back to my days as a teenager in the west of Ireland reading Judy Bloom in the library to learn about the facts of life :D
