The magic system was cool
Dropped off at post office and sent to a user in MD :) Enjoy!
Received this wishlist RABCK a little while ago but I was out of town so I'm just now journaling it. Thanks so much!!
I'm not sure how I first heard about this book, but I'm glad I did. It's an interesting universe where magic is done through scriving, that is, inscribing magical sigils onto objects to make them do things. For example, if you want to make something fly, you just scrive it in such a way that it believes gravity points in the opposite direction. This is the story of a thief who unwittingly is hired to steal an artifact of unimaginable potential, a policeman trying to solve the mystery, and a grumpy mage (for lack of a better term) who just wants to get back to his experiments. It was a world unlike any I'd encountered before, almost cyberpunk meets high fantasy. Enjoyable.
Bringing to the first in-person BCinDC meetup of 2022. I haven't seen most of these folks since The Beforetimes - over two years ago now!
